Deuteronomy 6:5-9

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Day 3 of Advent

Tonight started off with a bit of silliness. Our kids all decided they wanted to put on toboggans and gloves.
My dad and stepmom were able to join us tonight. Every Thursday is "Wright night." We try to eat at their house or they eat at ours. This is very special especially for the little ones. They look forward to seeing Nana, Papa, AND Aunt Alley each Thursday evening.
Today's reading was from Genesis 3:1-21. These verses describe the fall. The serpent tricks Eve, she eats the fruit and then gives it to Adam. The Lord questions them and then tells them their punishment. Just a few short chapters into the Bible and the whole story seems to fall apart. We were separated from God because of our sin. He being the loving and merciful God that He is calls to us in our sin, seeks us when we are lost and finds us when we hide.
Our activity of the night was to sing songs to the Lord. We chose The First Noel, Away in a Manger, and Silent Night. *Fun Times* (even if we didn't sound that great)

Carissa loves to hold a hymnal and sing along.

Andrew's turn to place the ornament. Tonight's ornament was a snake. This represents the serpent found in the scripture that we read.
