Deuteronomy 6:5-9

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

SBC

My family just got back from the "Southern Baptist Convention." This was the first time I went. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I struggle with the 'politics' of the church. I truly believe that God is doing some amazing work within the SBC. They mentioned that majority of the 8,000 people registered were under 50. The convention is taking on a new face. God is raising up some young, godly men, that love Jesus, and love people.

I was excited to see the "Great Commission Resurgence task force" was passed. You can go to this link to find out more. http://www.greatcommissionresurgence.com/ You must listen to Dr. Akin's sermon. (at that same web site, click on media) It is long, but well worth listening to. It is truly amazing to see how God is changing me. I never in a million years thought I would be involved in "organized" religion, much less a baptist. I can honestly say after this week, I am excited and proud to be apart of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The other thing that I'm so excited about is resolution2 (whatever that means) :) It is a resolution on adoption and orphan care. Praise God!

So watch out, some GREAT things are coming out of the SBC! I can't wait to see God use us in BIG ways! To Him be the glory!!!

We are glad to be home, and ready to reach Parkwood for Christ!

Word I'm trying understand

BALANCE!

One of my biggest struggles is learning to "balance" everything around me.
Priorities:
1. My relationship w/ my Lord
2. My husband
3. My children
4. everything else (housework, home schooling, directing my cc group, teaching new believers, pastor's wife, leading a bible study, odds and end church stuff, cooking healthy meals, making bread, grocery shopping, and coupon clipping)

So now I understand why the Proverbs 31 woman goes to sleep late at night and rises early in the morning. :) Needless to say blogging has been pushed to the back burner.

Don't get me wrong I am NOT complaining, I'm just learning how to balance.
