Deuteronomy 6:5-9

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

We have twins!!!

Ha,ha,ha we've had several "twin" squash. The funny thing is I think they're all coming off of the same plant. Check out the size of that cucumber. We didn't pick anything for a few days, because we were out of town. When we got back, this is what we had! Well, I've been busy blanching and freezing all of these veggies. Hopefully they'll get us to next summer.

Everythings growing round' here!

So lately it just seems like everything is growing around here. So I thought I would update you on everything. First, Tabitha is doing great! She is eating so great and getting so big. She is eight weeks now! Can you believe it??? Wow, how time flies. I just love being a mommy. I just love my children at all stages.

Taylor is becoming such a young lady. She is really starting to engage us in conversation on doctrine lately, and it's been so awesome to see Gods hand moving in her life. Please be praying for her. She is so hungry to understand. In our family time everyday we read a chapter in the bible and we have been going through the catechism's again. Ethan's answer to all the questions is "God", or Jesus is "God". It's so neat to seem him try to have conversations with us during bible time. No matter what we read, and how deep it is, he always simplifies it and brings it back to, "Jesus died on the cross for our sins". Andrew has started talking a lot more. He copies everything Ethan says. Ethan always prays at dinner time and then someone finishes. Now, Andrew has started to join him. Andrew loves to pray for papa. (we're not sure which one)

Did I mention earlier I love being a mommy. I am so blessed to watch these beautiful children grow, learn, and change everyday. I am so blessed to be able to stay home and teach them. Now ask me, "why would you want more"? I've been trying to come up with a good, short comment to say to people when they ask these silly questions. If you have any suggestions, I'm up for them. Anyway here are the most recent pics.
Before church, and Taylor with her 'tiara' I was telling you about in an earlier post.

So now, onto the garden. Well we are eating lots of fresh veggies. Everyone loves to help pick. Andrew stands by to taste. :-) (as soon as Daddy picks something, he picks it up to eat) We picked our first watermelon, only to be disappointed. It wasn't ripe yet. :-( Well, Martie's dad has now showed me how to check if it is ready. So we have plenty more growing, maybe better next time.

It looks ripe to us!

So sad!

My swimming princess

Taylor is in the middle, getting ready to dive in!
Swimming the butterfly.

Hi have to do a brag post. Today Taylor had her championship swim meet. This is her first year swimming on a swim team. She has done so well, and I am so proud of her determination, diligence, and her dedication. She has taken bunches of seconds off of all her strokes and she even placed in the backstroke today. It's kind of confusing to explain the scoring system, but I'll just say she did REALLY well.

We had our banquet and potluck dinner tonight after the meet. That was a great time, and Taylor received a very special award. The "princess" award. This is a fun award that a girl on the team gives out every year. She is rewarded with her very own tiara. The "girl" that gave the reward out said Taylor was at very practice, always had a good attitude, very bubbly, and was always offering hugs.

Her practices were 5 days a week at 6:00 in the morning. She woke up every morning at 5:30 a.m., very excited, got dressed and ready, and then had to sit and wait for daddy. He wasn't as enthusiastic at 5:30 in the morning. I'm so proud of my "princess". I'm also proud of daddy who was so supportive and took her to practice at 6:00 in the morning. Thanks sweetie!

I'll post pictures of her with the tiara and her other ribbons soon!
