Deuteronomy 6:5-9

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

UPDATED-for sale... and wanting to buy

So we've had several friends and family ask us what we're needing so you all can help us keep a look out. So friends, here is the list....finally. ;)

*Update* The things in yellow are the things we don't need anymore or we decided not to sell. We changed our minds about the boys room. We're going to keep their bunk beds. (especially since they have mattresses and bedding) We will figure out another bed when our adoption is closer. We need to save as much as possible in order to purchase other things that are needed sooner.

We are also selling our 2004 SEL Ford Freestar Van, please pass this listing on to people that might be interested. Thank you all for your help!!!

What we have to sell:
  • "My beloved" Purple work bench chair: (I know it's not worth much to anyone else but me) asking $20.00
  • Red Metal bunk bed (full on bottom and twin on top) asking $200
  • Duo glider double stroller (This is very used, still in good condition. A friend gave us a nicer one)- Will take best offer
  • Eddie Bauer single Stroller-will take best offer
What we're looking to buy:
  • 2 sets of twin over twin bunk beds
  • Tall dresser with about 5 drawers
  • Dining room table (we found one that we like and will fit our family. This may be something we have to pay full price for) http://www.roomstore.com/casual-dining-room-furniture/casual-dining/collections/hancock/170796.aspx
  • "Formal" living room furniture (This is something else we may pay full price for)
  • Dressers for Taylor's room
  • 3 twin mattresses!!! (1 for Taylor, 2 for the girls room, and 4 for the boys room. The 2 sets of bunk beds will go into the boys room)
  • Some kind of storage cabinets for our homeschool stuff (I know this is vague, sorry I don't know exactly what this is going to look like.
  • Bedding for the girls room (2 twin) My mother inlaw bought these. :D
  • Bedding for the boys room (4 twin)
  • 1 36" bathroom vanity
  • 1 30" bathroom vanity
  • Lights for each of the vanities.
  • Faux wood blinds (lots, so if you see them on sale please let me know) :)
There are a lot more odds and ends. Thank you all for keeping a look out for any of this. I'm so tired of looking at Craigslist so I appreciate you all helping us. I will update the list as we need more or we find some of the above items.

update

I feel like I have so much to update. I just haven't had time to sit and blog lately. So in the last few weeks the church has agreed to give Martie a pretty significant raise. They wanted us to be able to buy a house. This has been such a blessing to us. So we are in the process of purchasing a home that is about 3/4 of a mile away. It was a forclosure so it needs lot's of work. The guy that we are purchasing it from is fixing it to our desires. Basically this has blessed us more than we can explain. We are going from about 1000 sq. feet 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath to a 2600 sq. foot 6 bedrooms 2 bathroom house.

This "new" house has 3 bed. 2 bath upstairs, but has a completely unfinished full size basement. We are adding 3 more rooms and it will have a "family room" downstairs. We will use this room for our tv room and to homeschool.

We finished our adoption classes last week and the paperwork. Glory, glory!!! We are now waiting for a DSS worker to be assigned to us. I'm okay with it taking a few weeks as we are in the process of moving. I've been cleaning out everything and selling everything I can around the house. My children are starting to ask, "What's next?" hahaha I'm trying to sell the things so that we can afford to buy things for the new house. (we have a lot more house to furnish)

So if a DSS worker showed up right now they might be a little concerned. Boxes everywhere! I sold our dining room table, so we're eating off a table we borrowed from the church and metal chairs. :) Tabitha and Taylor are sleeping on a queen sized air mattress. I sold their loft bed. The boys bed is next on the for sale list!

So that's our quick update. Hopefully I can blog more frequently to keep you all posted!

education

education

From the 1828 Websters Dictionary:
EDUCA'TION
, n. [L. educatio.] The bringing up, as of a child, instruction; formation of manners. Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.

Modern day Websters Dictionary:

Definition of EDUCATION

1
a : the action or process of educating or of being educated; also : a stage of such a process b : the knowledge and development resulting from an educational process education>
