Deuteronomy 6:5-9

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Busy...

We've been very busy lately, so I haven't had much time to blog. Below is a bullet point list of what we've been up to.
  • My brother was in town for a week. (He lives in NM) We went to the beach for 2 days with him, his girlfriend, and son Micheal, my dad, and my sister.
  • We spent the week trying to spend as much time with him as possible. This included a cookout at my moms house.
  • Saturday before the 4th we served the community in the Parkwood Community Celebration. This included snow-cones, cotton candy, watermelon, bounce house, and games.
  • 4th of July we went to a friends sister's house to watch fireworks and eat homemade ice cream. (yummo!) Will have to do that again next year!
  • Martie did end of the year testing with Taylor.
  • Martie has been preaching through 1 Tim. He has been teaching on Sunday nights the Elder/Deacon model. He will be presenting new bylaws to the church Sunday.
  • Taylor will be in Challenge A with Classical Conversations. We had a parent meeting with her tutor. We're very excited, and can't believe we have a 7th grader!!!
  • Taylor is on the Parkwood Summer Swim Team. She has practice everyday and meets twice a week. Her championship meet is Saturday and we'll be done with swimming. Except the 3 little ones are getting swimming lessons in a few weeks. Stephanie that goes to our church will be teaching them.
Can you believe Carissa is 2 months old now? She is a bundle of joy. This is a picture where my aunt had her smiling so big. These days go by so quickly!

I have also been working on the children's lessons for next school year, which really starts now since we don't really take a break. The planning takes a while but is very exciting and worth all the preparation.

So that's a look into our lives lately. I hope you all are enjoying your summer "break."
