Deuteronomy 6:5-9

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

There is something so therapeutic about painting and listening to classical music. This week the children are studying the most famous impressionist Monet. This means you paint what you see and feel, maybe not so realistic. Short brush strokes and dabbing. Well, the children did there best attempt at painting some Monet pieces. I also put in our cd from the book, The Story of the Orchestra. I love that cd. They also enjoy listening.

It does take some preparation, and that can be the most difficult part. The results are well worth it. Now off to do phonics and math.

very creative.... and really brings a lot of different subjects into the lesson... music, art, fine motor skills, colors, etc;) I like it;)

And isn't that the kicker... all the cool stuff requires PREP and coordination:)
